The Sillies with Dawson

Here are a few things that have come out of Dawson's mouth lately that have given us a laugh. They might not be as funny as if you were there, but we found them humorous!

Chris: Dawson, we need to go now so we need to pick up your toys. I'll help you if you want.
Dawson: That's ok, I'll watch you do it (as he leans against his dresser.)

Yesterday I was putting on orange and black striped tight for Witches Night Out (post to come about that) and Dawson walked into the room. He gave me a weirded out look and said to me "That's not right, mom."

While I was driving the other day, the car in front of me did a fast stop so I was forced to too. Dawson said: "Be careful, mom!" "That too fast." "Go slow!"

Newest excuse to not do stuff: "I'm too little."

Newest excuse on why not to take a nap: "No thanks, mom. My ears get too hot."

When he sits on the potty to go pee, he will push and if it doesn't come right away he tells us, "It's not working." When he finally goes he says, "It works!"

Chris and Dawson go to BYU football home games and watch all the away games on tv, and this year being older Dawson has gotten into it a bit more. He must listen to what Christopher says cause today he was watching the guy run the ball and said "Go, go, get in there!"

When he does something wrong and knows he is gonna get sent to time out he tries to get out of it by coming up to us, giving us a hug and kiss and saying "I'm sorry mom/dad, that's my fault."

Emerson's Baby Blessing

This past Sunday Emerson was blessed by her Dad, Chris. We had our close family and friends in attendance, and it was a beautiful blessing. Tammy and Cassidy were kind enough to write down the key points of her blessing for me, something I wish I had done with Dawson. Here are some of the things she was blessed with:
-She is a special daughter of God
-She will be blessed with faith throughout her life
-She was blessed to know of her Savior and His Atonement and to be close to Him through her life
-Blessed to know her parents love her so much
-Blessed to be valiant, faithful, keep the commandments, and be baptized
-She will be blessed with a righteous young man to take her to the Temple and treat her like a queen
-Blessed that when the time comes she will teach her family the Gospel
-Blessed with knowledge
Afterward, everyone came to our house to eat and socialize! We had tons of food, everyone was kind enough to offer to bring something...and I mean everyone...I told some people not to worry about it and we STILL had tons of food leftover. Thank you to everyone who came and helped out and showed your love and support!!
PS My friend Summer let me borrow her daughter, Reece's blessing dress. Her Mom MADE it! Amazing huh? It's beautiful and I thought Em was gorgeous in it!

Family Photos!

Our awesome friend Carrie did our family photos this past Friday for us! I wanted to get them done when Emerson was closer to 3 months so she would be able to sit up a little bit more if she was propped and smiling. I was also to get pictures of Dawson since it is about a month off of his 3rd birthday. As always, she did a great job and I love the sampling of photos she posted. Emerson at 3 Months!

Emerson turned 3 months yesterday...I seriously feel like time is flying by! We are so excited to bless her with our good family and friends this Sunday! She is such a good baby, and we feel like she has been apart of our family always. I can't really remember what it was like without her! As usual, here is Emerson at 3 months:

-She sleeps through the night and has been since about 2 1/2 months! I feed her at about 10pm for the night then she sleeps until 7:30-8am the next morning. I know, we are definitly lucky!
-She takes good naps too, loves sleeping in her swing or bouncer during the day.
-Still loves her cozy blanket and binky.
-She is much happier in the car now!
-She HATES tummy time!
-She does ok in the bath as long as she stays warm...so getting out is not so fun!
-She wants to be sitting up propped against something or held up. If she is not tired and you hold her laying down she will let you know she is not happy!
-She will grab whatever she can, and loves if you give her a toy to hold onto.
-You just have to look at her and she smiles!
-She has laughed now on 4 different occasions and I hope it starts to happen a lot more!
-She coos and chats with you.
-She loves when you play Patty Cake with her and it has instigated 2 of her laughs.
-We have a Baby Faces book that has big pics of well, baby faces. If you show her the pics she starts kicking and getting really excited and coos.
-She is getting pretty good neck control.
-She still has reflux.
-She HATES getting her nose cleaned out if she has a booger.
-She watches everything around her intently.

Tasty Tuesday

This is a side dish to go with those yummy Asian kabobs! Delish!

Peanut Noodle Salad

2 lg. cucumbers
1 c soy sauce
1/2 c coconut milk
1/2 c rice wine vinegar
1/2 c chunky peanut butter
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 T sesame oil
1/2 t dried crushed red pepper
1/2 t salt
1 (16 oz) pkg soba noodles or angel hair pasta, cooked
1/2 c shredded carrot
6 green onions, cut into 1 1/2 in pieces

Peel cucumbers, cut in half length wise, remove seeds, and slice. Whisk together soy sauce and next 7 ingredients. Add cucumber, pasta, carrot, and onions, tossing to coat. Cover and Chill 24 hours. Serves 6-8

A Coconut Yamaka and a Binky.

So here are a couple videos of the kids that I think are pretty cute. A couple weeks ago we had Aunt Jen and Uncle Jer over for dinner, and Jer brought over a coconut that he had bought and wanted to crack open. While I was feeding Emerson, they proceeded to hollow it out and realize it was the perfect size for Dawson's head. When I was done feeding Em I came out to Dawson telling me he was Jewish...ha. The video of Emerson I think is funny, but it may just be me. It just cracks me up how her head is bobbing up and down as she sucks on her bink.
